Distribution
You are encouraged to distribute Jumbles provided that all files
contained in the archive are distributed in their original and
unmodified state.
Description
JumEdit is an offline editor for registered users of the door program Jumbles
version 5.0 or higher. This program will detect whether you are using a shareware
copy of Jumbles and terminate abruptly if so detected.
Registered sysops will find JumEdit an invaluable tool for creating new jumbles,
or editting existing jumbles.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
---------------
Although you may name your configuration file anything you like for the game,
you MUST have a configuration file named 'jumbles.cfg' in order for the
JUMEDIT program to work!
==========================================
SETUP
=-=-=
Be sure to have the program 'JumEdit.exe' in the same directory as your
jumbles files are in. You can launch the JumEdit program from the DOS command line by typing:
'JumEdit'.
MAIN MENU
=-=-=-=-=
The Main Menu contains the three options: Edit Jumbles file, Edit Bonus file,
and Quit.
Edit Jumbles File
-----------------
The 'Jumbles' file contains 2 fields for each record; the first field contains the
jumbled letters and the second field is the correct word. You may change any or all
of the records within this file (or add new records) by simply pressing the
corresponding editting keys as displayed on screen. *Important* - use word
lengths of 10 characters or less!
Edit Bonus File
---------------
The 'Bonus' file contains 4 field per record; the first field is the jumbled letters
for this word(s), the second field is a one-line clue, the third field is the phrase,
and the fourth field is the answer to the bonus jumble.
All fields in this option can be editted the same as in the 'Jumbles' file above.
*Important Note* - the letters field must contain 25 characters or less, the clue
field must contain 59 characters or less, the phrase field must contain 25 characters
or less, and the answer field must contain 25 characters or less.
Edit Day File
-------------
The 'Day' file contains values that tells the program when to change the daily jumbles and
bonus jumbles. Additionally, SysOps can, if ever need be, change the values that tell the
program which set of (4) jumbles to use for the daily jumbles today and which Bonus jumble
is in effect today. Of course the program changes these values on the first caller each day.
Nonetheless, it is included here if for some reason you need to edit these fields.
